Citroen C5 Aircross: New SUV segment in itself!

Since 1919, Citroen has been surprising the world with their extraordinary comfortable ride and bold bodyline. Not surprising, yet again, they have planned to enter the Indian automobile sector with their Citroen C5 Aircross. Though the price expectations are well over 25 lakhs, they seem like a good competition against BMW X1 and Audi Q2. Mercedes GLA is not be compared due to its lower stance than the other SUV competitors.

Getting into the driver side, eyes fall on the big multi-infotainment screen with all digital read-out, feeling well updated with the future. The gear lever at first feels quirky but feels very natural to grab onto. On the side of the gear lever is a dial for adjusting different driving modes as per the condition requirements namely, highway, snow, off-road, sand, and traction control off. Apart from these basic drive modes, one can also choose among Sport and ECO mode which also changes the drivers display screen as per the mode. An added key feature here is the speed control when going down hill and standard hill assist. These features boldly place the Citroen C5 Aircross as a proper SUV.

On the first look, Citroen seems to have a plus over the competitors in the boot space. Now jumping into the rear seats, what makes them more unique is the added adjustable rear seats which comes in proportional sizes for efficient and highly customizable rear seats. Rear passengers do get AC vents, taking care of the rear passenger comfort. ISOFIX points are given to ensure child safety.

Comes with rear as well as front parking sensors for added safety. With a projecting hologram placed under their electrically foldable and adjustable ORVM, they are surely set to mark the roads.

Though the company has only announced Diesel variant, which only have a 10 year life as per the current government's guidelines in Delhi, a lower sales in the capital is expected. Can surely expect them to come with their hybrid and electric vehicle and technology in India to capture a wider market hold. As per whole, surely seems like a car need to keep our eyes on!
